Brand identity Callan Co-Op

01

Project Idea

Callan Co-op approached us as they were in need of a brand identity rebrand. The brand was dated and didn’t represent all of the service offering Callan Co-op brings to its customers. Callan Co-op has evolved from a creamery based business in 1899 to proudly servicing the needs of their customers through the agri-business, retail hardware and retail convenience stores today.

Project Description

First we had to understand what Callan Co-op are trying to achieve with this new visual identity.

We discussed with Callan Co-op what the core business is and what the future plans are also. As this was a new journey for Callan Co-op we needed to be aware of all the obstacles along that road map in relation to key services, target market, future plans etc.

We completed an internal discovery session, this enabled us to brainstorm, provoke questions and cultivate ideas. This included researching and familiarising ourselves with the project in full, exploring competitors, knowing the brands strengths, weaknesses, threats and future goals. We then reverted to Callan Co-op to clarify any outstanding questions before we proceeded to the next stage.

Once we were confident that we were fully immersed in this design project, we began the design process. When designing for any project we always consider the brand vision, adaptability of the identity, the touch points they interact with and future brand expansion.

anne+co. did a great job on the rebrand and it helped us reposition Callan Co-op as forward thinking, progressive and modern while still retaining all of the traditional values of community, heritage and value that are integral to the Co-op. It also gave us a strong brand base from which to co-brand with Homevalue on the retail store.
